In a damning story that could cost Donald Trump the election, even more than it currently has - there is now more evidence that The President was trying to downplay the virus, even when he was aware of the risks that it presented.
The American Oversight Group, a non-profit, non-partisan watchdog organization was able to obtain thousands of internal USPS documentation. This was done through the Freedom of Information Act.
They uncovered that in April, the USPS had plans to send 650 million masks to Americans.
The masks would originally be intended to be sent out to areas experiencing high COVID-19 transmission rates, such as Louisiana, Washington, Michigan, and New York. They were partnering with HHS (Department of Health and Human Services) and the White House Coronavirus Task Force in order to make this possible.
So what happened with this plan, you may ask? Well, Senior White House officials told The Washington Post they did not want to spark concern or panic among Americans.
Now I don't know about you, but what seems more concerning: receiving an unsolicited set of face masks in the mail, or 204,000+ deaths due to the inaction of sending said face masks?
